Our Story
A school that began with a mother’s wish...
Wira’s Playroom started for a simple, honest reason. A mother wanted her son to be closer to home.
Wira had been travelling two hours every school day — one hour there, one hour back — to attend a school that understood him. His mother, Sara, looked everywhere in South Jakarta for somewhere closer. There was nowhere.
So she built one.

Every child with special needs is one — most before they are even born.
Why “Playroom,” not “School”?
Sara believes in the power of learning through play.
When a child enjoys learning — and falls in love with it — they keep learning for the rest of their lives. We have seen this in our own children. We want to carry that same spirit here.
Children and families who walk into Wira’s Playroom should not feel intimidated by the idea of school. They should feel excited, curious, and joyful about learning.
